After Madhur Mittal was booked for sexual assault by ex girlfriend, the actor has opened up and explained his side in an official statement

Slumdog Millionaire Actor Madhur Mittal Responds To Sexual Assault Allegations, Claims The Accusations To Be Untrue
Slumdog Millionaire famed actor Madhur Mittal was booked for alleged sexual assault; the complaint was filed by his ex girlfriend. In Times Of India, a source close to the victim(actor's ex girlfriend) informed about the entire scenario. The source informed the two dated for 2 months and later parted ways, Madhur could not take it. As he was shooting in Jaipur after he returned to Mumbai he straight headed to his ex’s place in Bandra. After she rejected, he forced himself on her. 

The source revealed, “The two had common friends, after which he added her on social media. They got close and he asked her out. They were seeing each other for two months. They parted ways and Madhur couldn’t deal with the breakup. He was shooting in Jaipur. Livid, he landed in Mumbai and entered her Bandra residence on February 13th. Unable to take rejection, he tried to force himself on her. He tried to see her again on the 15th, but the girl’s lawyer Niranjani Shetty asked him to leave the premises, and he complied.”

Now as per reports in Times Of India, the actor released a statement in Bombay Times.  The actor mentioned in his statement all these news pieces being untrue and these rumours have severely hampered his image. Also he is the only earning member of his family, it has affected them a lot and many casting directors have refused to sign him for work. In his statement he said, “Getting to learn about things which are untrue is extremely disturbing. There have been WhatsApp messages filled with stories that are assassinating my character. These are being forwarded for weeks in casting directors’ groups denying me work. I’m the only earning member of my family since the age of seven and all these reports in the media are affecting me, my family and my career in more ways than you can imagine.” 



The actor also urged people not to arrive at the conclusion, as this is only one side of the story, and also he has faith in the law. He said, “I urge everyone to not jump to conclusions about me through these one-sided reports in the media. The victim’s lawyer Niranjani Shetty said in his conversation with Bombay Times, that the girl was in no state to talk, her friends got in touch with him. She has injuries, after she was battered and sexually assaulted. Also he made a visit to Against Women Cell, followed by which an FIR was filed. 

Her lawyer said, “That girl was not in a state to talk to me. Her friend reached out to me. She had sustained injuries under the eye, neck and lips. I discovered that she was battered and sexually assaulted. Our concern was her safety, so I sent a letter by post to the police station. I personally went to the Crime Against Women Cell (CAWC). They later called us and the FIR was filed.”
Speaking about women safety he said, “You cannot hit a woman, period. You may be in a relationship with her for two months or 20 years, it doesn’t matter. Men need to learn to accept a ‘No’. This psyche of entitled behaviour needs to change. Madhur Mittal is booked under the section 354, 354A, 354B, 509, 323 of the IPC at the Khar Police station on February 23, 2021.
